House Royalty Todd Terry Talks All Things Music In Preparation For His Eden Residency This Summer

House music icon and Grammy-nominated producer Todd Terry is making history in 2025 with the announcement of his first-ever solo Ibiza residency. Launching under his Freeze Project at the world-renowned Eden Ibiza, the series will run every Wednesday from June 25 to September 17. With a curated lineup of house legends and rising talent – Mark Knight, Kevin Saunderson, Julie McKnight, Majestic, Fat Tony and more – Todd is promising a return to the raw, soulful roots of House. As he leads a landmark season at one of the island’s favourite venues, we caught up with the Brooklyn-born pioneer to talk all things music, Ibiza, and moments that made his career.

Can you give us a quick intro to who you are?
I’m Todd Terry – DJ and record producer.

How would you describe your sound, and how has it evolved over the years?
My sound is a mixture of House and Disco, blended with Breakbeat and Tech grooves. It’s always evolving, but it stays rooted in those classic elements that make people move.

What first interested you in music, and how did you get started?
A friend of mine was playing music in the park near my school. That was the first moment I really connected with music – and I just knew I had to be part of it.

Tell us your current favourite track and why.
I like the old-school vibe. My favourite track right now is Chaka Khan – I Love You, I Live You. It’s soulful, it’s real, just beautiful music.

What does Ibiza mean to you?
It’s magic here. It feels special just being on the island. The people love music, and the culture of House is really deep-rooted.

You’re set to start your first-ever Ibiza residency at Eden this year. What can we expect from you this season?
I really want to bring it back to the songs and the feeling they give us. Singing and dancing, that’s the way it should be. Expect proper House music, good vibes, and soul.

Give us some insight into your most memorable moment in your music career so far.
One of the best moments was playing the Defected Christmas Party in 2019. I played only old-school classics and the crowd loved every second of it. That kind of energy is unforgettable.

If you could collaborate with any legendary artist, who would it be and why?
I’d love to work with Nina Simone. She always kept it real, and that honesty in music is what I value most.
